Quack sprites are a Special variant theme in Fortnite's Runners season unlocked through the Sprite Mastery progression system. Unlike other themes that drop from Sprite Chests, Quack variants are earned by mastering a specific number of sprites — creating a long-term collection goal with milestone-based rewards.
The Quack mastery track starts at 35 sprites mastered with the Quack Water variant, then progressively unlocks more variants at each milestone: Quack Earth at 40, Quack Fire at 45, the Lucky Locator gadget at 50, the guaranteed 0.4 Quack variant at 55, a victory umbrella at 60, and a special emote at 70 sprites mastered. How to Level Sprites Efficiently
Sprite XP is earned by performing in-game actions while a sprite is equipped: opening chests, collecting ammo boxes, getting eliminations, and general gameplay. To speed up leveling, purchase Quack Snacks from vending machines for 1,500 gold bars each — these items guarantee a full level-up when consumed. Quack Snacks also drop rarely from Sprite Chests.
Double XP Mondays
Every Monday, Fortnite runs a double Sprite XP event. This is the most efficient day to grind mastery — equip sprites you haven't maxed yet and focus on chest-heavy rotations. Combining double XP with Quack Snacks lets you master 2-3 sprites in a single session.
