About Fortnite Epic Sprites

Fortnite Epic sprites are the mid-tier of the Runners season and easily the most contested tier for meta discussion. Six sprites live here: Aura, Demon, Duck, Ghost, King, and Striker. Despite being one step below Legendary, Epic sprites include Ghost — the near-universally agreed #1 pick in the entire game — thanks to its cloak-on-reload effect that turns every gunfight into a potential reset.

Epic sprites are harder to find than Rare — they drop from Sprite Chests but not reliably, and their fixed spawn locations are more contested (Ghost only spawns at night, King rewards Build-mode players). Their Sprite Dust summon cost is significantly higher than Rare, so most players farm them from chests until they can afford to guarantee-summon their favorites.

Below is every Epic sprite with its effect, biome, and tier note. This is the tier most seasoned players spend the majority of their Sprite Dust on — Ghost and Demon in particular are pillar picks for aggressive playstyles.

Epic Sprites — FAQ

How many Epic sprites are in Fortnite?

There are 6 Epic sprites in the Runners season: Aura, Demon, Duck, Ghost, King, and Striker. Each has multiple Special theme variants.

What is the best Epic sprite in Fortnite?

Ghost is the top pick for both Build and Zero Build. Its cloak-on-reload window forces enemies to re-acquire you every fight, turning bad trades into resets. Demon is the aggressive-player alternative — HP/shield siphon on eliminations lets you snowball fights without retreating.

How do I get Ghost Sprite in Fortnite?

Ghost only spawns during nighttime matches. If you're hunting Ghost specifically, drop into a night rotation — trying to farm it during daytime is a waste. Ghost also drops from Epic-tier Sprite Chests and can be summoned with Sprite Dust.

Is King Sprite good for Zero Build?

Not really — King's pickaxe damage boost is goated for Build players (fast wall takes decide fights) but essentially useless in Zero Build, where you almost never swing the pickaxe in combat. For ZB, prioritize Ghost, Demon, or Boss instead.
