Every new sprite added to Fortnite's Runners season — freshly released, upcoming, and how to get them.
The Runners season sprite roster isn't static — Epic drops new variants into the game every few patches, and the latest wave just hit. If you've been grinding Sprite Chests and seeing unfamiliar rainbow-shimmer silhouettes, you're not hallucinating: the Holofoil series just expanded with five new entries.
These five — Holofoil Water, Fire, Ghost, King, and Striker — each carry the signature Holofoil perk (5% squad-wide chance to pull rare variants from chests) stacked on top of their base sprite's ability. That makes them the first Holofoil variants with genuinely combat-useful base effects rather than pure utility. Holofoil Ghost with cloak-on-reload, for example, is a legitimate contender for best Special variant in the game right now.
Further down you'll find everything still sitting in the game files but locked — the datamined Gem, Cube, Quack, and Rift variants that haven't been switched on yet. Some of these have been in the files since launch with no release date announced, so treat them as "eventually" rather than "soon."
These sprites were released in the latest update and are now available in-game.
These sprites have been datamined from the game files but are not yet available. They are expected in future updates.
Every other sprite already available in the game.
Five Holofoil variants dropped in the latest patch: Holofoil Water, Holofoil Fire, Holofoil Ghost, Holofoil King, and Holofoil Striker. All five are immediately available in Sprite Chests and through Sprite Dust summoning (4,000 dust for Water/Fire, 6,000 for Ghost/King/Striker).
There's no fixed schedule. Epic has released new sprite batches alongside major version updates (v33.10, v33.20, etc.) which land roughly every 2–3 weeks. The Holofoil series in particular has been rolling out in groups of 3–5 per patch rather than all at once — the first batch (Holofoil Demon, Dream, Duck, etc.) came two patches before this latest set.
Same as any other sprite — they appear in Sprite Chests the moment the patch goes live. New sprites don't have boosted drop rates, so their rarity follows the standard Special-tier odds (~1.5% per chest). Summoning with Sprite Dust is the reliable path if you want a specific one. Check our Location Map for chest farming routes.
The game files contain 80+ unreleased variants across Gem, Cube, Quack, and Rift themes. Some (like Rift Dream and Rift Punk) have placeholder data with no abilities filled in, suggesting they're further out. Others (like the Gem variants) have complete stat blocks and could drop any patch. We update this page within hours of every new release.
