Cheat Master Jonesy is a CheatMaster-themed variant of the Jonesy sprite from the Runners season in Fortnite. It is released and available to collect in Fortnite.
Cheat Master variant with glitched visuals
After taking damage, wait a brief moment and your health or shields begin regenerating passively — no consumables needed.
The amount restored per tick increases with each Level Up.
Jonesy provides passive regeneration after taking damage — wait a short duration and health/shields start recovering. Simple, reliable, and always useful. No kill requirement like Demon, no positioning requirement like Water. Just survive the initial hit. Cheat Master is a new variant theme introduced in Chapter 7 Season 4. These special variants feature a unique visual style and are obtained through the Cheat Code system — find Cheat Codes scattered around the map and apply them to your equipped sprite to unlock the Cheat Master version.
This guide covers the base Jonesy sprite's abilities and strategy. The Cheat Master Jonesy variant shares the same core mechanics with an additional theme bonus.
Jonesy's passive regeneration kicks in automatically after you take damage and survive a brief cooldown period. No consumables needed, no kill conditions, no positioning requirements. You take a hit, you don't die, you wait a moment — health and shields start recovering. In a game where healing items frequently run low mid-match, Jonesy makes you self-sufficient in a way no other C7S4 sprite does.
At Level 1, the regen per tick is modest. By Level 5, the amount restored per tick is substantially higher, making the between-fight recovery much faster. The delay before regen begins also tightens at higher levels. A leveled Jonesy essentially means you arrive at every fight with close to full health if you had any time to recover between engagements — a significant stamina advantage in late-game scenarios.
Boss gives a flat HP/Shield increase (more total health to lose). Jonesy refills health you've already lost. These serve different philosophies: Boss makes you harder to kill in a single exchange; Jonesy makes you harder to kill across multiple exchanges. In solo play where fights are spread out over 1–2 minute intervals, Jonesy's regen is often more valuable than Boss's extra 50 health — you arrive at the next fight full, not running on 75 HP from the last one.
Demon heals on elimination — you must win to benefit. Jonesy heals after surviving damage — you must not die to benefit. For players with 0–1 eliminations per match, Jonesy generates more healing over a session than Demon. For players consistently getting 5+ eliminations, Demon's higher per-kill burst may catch up. Average players will find Jonesy more reliable across the full game population.
Jonesy is Rare at 2,000 Sprite Dust — the most accessible survivability sprite in C7S4. No complex interactions, no skill requirement. If you're new to the Runners season or playing casually, Jonesy is the safest regen choice at the lowest Dust investment.
