About Fortnite Gold Sprites
Gold sprites are the most iconic Special theme in the Fortnite Runners season. Every Gold variant is a metallic yellow re-skin of a base sprite, awarded when you reach Max Level with that base sprite in your Collection. Because Max Level requires substantial play time, a Gold Ghost or Gold Zero Point in someone's Collection is instantly recognizable as a prestige flex.
Gold variants share the same effect as their base sprite, so Gold Water's in-water shield regen is identical to regular Water's. What Gold gives you is a distinct in-match glow, a decorated Collection entry, and the satisfaction of a completed grind. Most competitive players target Gold versions of their most-used sprites — Gold Ghost, Gold Demon, Gold Boss are the popular picks.

How do I get Gold sprites in Fortnite?
Reach Max Level with a base sprite by using it in matches. Gold variants unlock automatically when the base sprite hits Max. Some Gold variants are also purchasable with Sprite Dust at high cost.
How many Gold sprites are there?
There are 17 Gold variants — one for each base character in the Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythic tiers (excluding Burnt Peanut, which has no variants). Two of the 17 are for unreleased base sprites.
Do Gold sprites do more damage than base sprites?
No — Gold variants share the exact same effect as their base sprite. The gold visual is purely cosmetic prestige.
